Publications

The International Masonry Society is making available on-line all the papers presented at its conferences together with Journal articles from its magazine, Masonry International. In addition, entire bound volumes of its conference proceedings and back issues of Masonry International can be purchased via this section (subject to availability).

Members can download papers published in Masonry International from the web site in Adobe PDF format free of charge. Non-members can download these papers on payment of a small fee. This fee can be paid on-line. Conference papers will also be available free of charge to members normally one year after their publication. They can be accessed and downloaded prior to that on payment of a fee.

The Title, Abstract and any keywords from all papers are available to all visitors to the site to allow searching.

The search facility can be used to find individual papers and there is an advanced feature to help refine your search. For more details of the advanced search, see the document below.

Masonry International

Masonry International is the main publication of the International Masonry Society and is normally published three times each year.

It has a Journal section containing original papers on research and practice, and a Bulletin including papers and reviews of a more practical nature. It also contains news items, notices of meetings, book reviews and issues concerning legislation and International Standards.

Each member receives Masonry International free of charge. Corporate members receive two copies.

Non-members of the Society may purchase a subscription to Masonry International on-line.

Proceedings of Conferences

The Society publishes Proceedings of the major conferences it organises. These contain printed or electronic versions of all of the papers given at the conference concerned. They are provided to all conference delegates and are subsequently available for purchase by others.

The papers in the conference proceedings have been subjected to peer review, edited and revised and were presentated at the conference.

STAMFORD BROOK ~ Evaluating the Impact of an Enhanced Energy Performance Standard on Load-bearing Masonry Domestic Construction

This PII project is evaluating the implementation of an advanced energy standard on a large scale housing development. It is being undertaken by the Centre for the Built Environment at Leeds Metropolitan University. For details visit the CEBE projects website or see page 9 of NHBC Standards Extra issue 41.

At the AGM on 1st July 2008, Mr John Haynes took office as President of the International Masonry Society for the year 2008/9 and Mr Michael Driver became the new President-Elect.

EC6 IT design program from the Danish Technological Institute

DTI is offering an on-line calculation and design program consistent with EC6. The program is in English and can be used without charge for 3 weeks.
