The Hanseatic City of Lübeck (population 219,044) was founded in 1143 and is located between Hamburg and Copenhagen.
Lübeck is Germany’s most extensive UNESCO World Heritage site and was the queen of the Hanseatic League in the 14th century. The city’s buildings feature extensive historic masonry, including six brickwork church towers which surpass 100m tall – making Lübeck the city with the highest number of tall church towers in the world.
Lübeck is well connected by train, plane, car and public transport. Hamburg Airport (HAM) is around 60km away and the nearby Baltic Sea offers great opportunities for post-conference tours and holidays.
The 11th IMC will be held at the Musik-und Kongresshalle (MuK) in downtown Lübeck. MuK is within walking distance of hotels and the railway station (additional information is available here).
