Abstract
The heat loss through the envelope indicates a building’s thermal performance. This is calculated by two computer programs (2D), realized by the authors, based on the Romanian and European prescriptions. The temperature field through an envelope section, the heat flow rate , the thermal transmittance (U) and the linear thermal transmittance are determined for a section with a linear thermal bridge, considering two and three boundary temperatures. The heat transfer by conduction into the material, by convection between the materials and the radiation of the sun, are considered as steady-state processes. Some case studies, with the best solution for one Romanian climatic zone and different geometrical models of masonry envelopes, are presented in the paper.
