Abstract
Wallettes were built of hollow clay blocks (40,50 and 55% holes) alt produced in the same plant from the same raw materials and process. The wallettes were loaded vertically (perpendicular to the bedding plane) and deformations parallel to and orthogonal to the load recorded. These showed differences due to the internal layout of webs. The greatest horizonal deformation was found in those wallettes with blocks with offset webs and these showed less resistance to axial loads than those with lined up webs. The aim of the research over several years has been to optimize the resistance capacities with particular reference to those factors which affect the internal layout of webs and their thickness.
