Abstract
The concept of using brickwork in some building forms as a thin skin cladding is flawed. Such skins are vulnerable to wind and other forces and limit aesthetic design. Design and construction methods to overcome many of the weaknesses, add to the cost of construction and reduce site productivity. A cladding which is able to support its own weight is to be commended.
