One of the top priorities in the building sector is the reduction of costs related to the constructive processes and its execution in construction. Due to the global economic crisis and the growth of competition on the building sector, it is necessary to evaluate other options which provide the good construction practices and the fulfilment of requirements defined in the actual design regulations. This study presents the case study of building to comparison of costs related to the resistant structure of building in structural masonry and reinforced concrete. During the design phase of this case study, it was decided that the constructive solution in masonry was better because it is necessary to reduce costs related to the application of materials, labour and time of execution. Using this constructive solution, the results show that masonry is an appropriate technologic process and the reduction of costs is significant.
