The elasto/plastic model for brittle materials and its application to the analysis of masonry structures is presented. The model belongs to the group of “cap models” with DRUCKER-PRAGER cone as the main part of the yield surface. The success of this model is confirmed fry the results of numerical tests of a simple brickwork specimen subjected to shear loading and by the analysis of basement walls under distributed and concentrated loading, calculated with regard to the soil/structure interaction.
