A calculation procedure for the analysis of a semi-rigid load bearing masonry frame is proposed. The degree of fixity is computed from the change in rotation occurring at a slab wall joint, due to the existence of precompression at that level. The differential equation defining beam column interaction is solved for second order slope, using a graphical form of the solution. The moment change is computed from the difference between the first and second order slopes. The proposed method gives close agreement with experimental results of other workers. A brief description of the extension of the procedure to calculate failure loads in buckling and for capacity reduction factors is also presented.
