This paper presents a design method for infilled panels subjected to inplane shear based on Limit Analysis. The infill material is assumed to be unreinforced masonry and the frame can be of any material, for example, steel reinforced, prestressed or precast concrete. The method is able to take account of the strength of the joints in the bounding frame. The infill panels may be solid or include openings for doors and windows. Design examples are given.
