Abstract
This paper presents a geometrical model for the uniaxial compressive behaviour of brick masonry. The model utilises several focal points in the uniaxial stress-strain plane that are derived based on the geometrical properties of the experimental cyclic stress-strain curves. The model facilitates the reproduction of the common point curve, the stability point curve, the plastic strain curves and pieced linear reloading/unloading curves without accompanying calculations. The test results used in this paper are based on an experimental programme conducted on half scale brick masonry specimens.
