The Code for Sustainable Homes and Regulatory Update - masonry sector

The Society is co-operating with the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors to put on a series of seminars in different parts of the country dealing with the Code for Sustainable Homes.

The aim is to give delegates an overall feel for the Code of Sustainable Homes, but to show how to use masonry construction to achieve credits and therefore points in the Technical Guidance to the Code.

There will also be update for delegates on the latest changes to the Building Regulations and future proposals.

The venues will be:

Bolton - Reebok Stadium - 3 October 2007
London - RICS HQ - 16 October 2007
Coventry - Ricoh Arena - 20 November 2007
Southampton - St Mary's Stadium - 22 November 2007

New BS guide for specifying precast concrete masonry units

BS 6073-2_2008 Precast concrete masonry units. Guide for specifying precast concrete masonry units has just been published by BSI. It gives guidance on specifying precast concrete masonry units conforming to BS EN 771-3 and BS EN 771-4.
