Announcement and Call for Papers

The BMS International Masonry Conference was established as part of the International Calendar of masonry conferences and attracts papers and participants from the masonry countries of the world.

Previous conferences have been held in 1986,1989, 1992, 1995, 1998 and 2002 under the BMS banner and follow British Ceramic Society Conferences held from 1964 to 1983.

Call for Papers

This is your opportunity to report on original work you have done; the papers will be refereed and issued in Proceedings to be available at the Conference.

Please register your interest either by completing and mailing the form below to the Secretary, or emailing the Secretary, kenneth@fisher5053.fsnet.co.uk giving details of paper(s) that you hope to present.

Original Papers are invited on the following subjects:

• Masonry restoration, repair, rehabilitation and refurbishment

Papers will be required to be submitted in electronic form (including figures) to a style and format that will be notified to authors whose Abstracts have been accepted. Papers will be included in the Proceedings only if at least one of the authors registers for the Conference.

The venue is home to the Institution of Civil Engineers. Built between 1910 and 1913, the exterior, foyer and grand staircase are constructed of Portland stone.
Situated in Westminster, it is surrounded by some of London’s best known landmarks – The Houses of Parliament, Westminster Abbey and St James’s Park, and near to Westminster Bridge and the River Thames.
Transport links are close by, with Westminster underground station just two minutes walk away and St James’s Park underground station only five minutes away, giving easy access to mainline railway stations.
