REPORT OF COUNCIL FOR THE YEAR 2004
1. The Society
Membership continues to reflect the international basis of the Society, with the website now generating response. Development of the website forms an important part of the Society strategy. News items from Masonry International are now also placed on the site, and work is progressing to develop the technical content of the site by reference to Masonry International papers. This work has received considerable input from the Executive Editor, Mr G. Thompson.
Society finances highlight the need to address generation of income for the future.
During the latter months of the year effort has been concentrated on the planning of future meetings, specifically the roadshows to be held in Birmingham, Leeds and London, in conjunction with RICS, in May/June. Presentation at these venues is a first for the Society. Preparations have also commenced for the 7th International Masonry Conference (7 IMC) to be held in London on 30/31 October – 1 November 2006. The success of such meetings is vital to the future welfare of the Society.
