STAMFORD BROOK ~ Evaluating the Impact of an Enhanced Energy Performance Standard on Load-bearing Masonry Domestic Construction

This PII project is evaluating the implementation of an advanced energy standard on a large scale housing development. It is being undertaken by the Centre for the Built Environment at Leeds Metropolitan University. For details visit the CEBE projects website or see page 9 of NHBC Standards Extra issue 41.

Society President 2008-9

At the AGM on 1st July 2008, Mr John Haynes took office as President of the International Masonry Society for the year 2008/9 and Mr Michael Driver became the new President-Elect.

EC6 IT design program from the Danish Technological Institute

DTI is offering an on-line calculation and design program consistent with EC6. The program is in English and can be used without charge for 3 weeks.

1-day courses in Structural Masonry Design

EU proposal for CPR to replace the CPD

The European Commission has published COM(2008) 311 final, which is its proposal for a Regulation laying down harmonised conditions for the marketing of construction products.
